Porsche 935/78 “Moby Dick”
After Porsche abandoned the unsuccessful “Moby Dick” 935/78 LeMans effort, several replicas were built by Rheinhold Joest. The Momo car shown here was driven by Gianpiero Moretti and Bobby Rahal in the 1981 Watkins Glen Six Hour race. The radically styled car was very popular with spectators and actually led the first hour of competition until fuel feed problems caused its retirement. Painted by artist, Robert Gillespie.
