Frank Griswold’s 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C-2900B rounds the first turn on its way to winning the 4 lap Watkins Glen Junior Prix. This supercharged car was originally built for the Mille Miglia and its abilities proved well–suited to the 6.6 mile ”round the gorge” circuit. The Griswold car also proved victorious in the 8 lap Grand Prix. In the background are Briggs Cunningham in his Bu-Merc and George Hendrie in his 1928 Alfa 6C- 1750.  Painted by artist, Robert Gillespie.
